In my professional life I am Director of Knowledge Translation and Co-Director of the Cancer Self-Management Research Institute within the Cancer Education department at the Princess Margaret. I am pursuing PhD studies to better understand mechanisms that support learning and transfer. I have a Master’s degree in Education, and am certified as a Knowledge Translation professional and Instructional Designer. I have more than 16 years of experience developing multi-modal educational programming and communications in healthcare and am passionate to learn more and do better. I specialize in learner engagement (provider and patients/caregivers), co-creation and development of responsive, quality knowledge translation interventions aimed at closing gaps in patient care.

My favourite book remains Wild Swans by Jung Chang. I love historical fiction and this story takes you through the lives of three women - daughter, mother and grandmother to demonstrate the tremendous social and political upheaval in China in the 20th century. The daughter lives in the US, is university educated and lives a life like many of us, her mother was a Red Guard in Maoist China and the grandmother a concubine who lived at the tail end of feudalism.

I love to paint, work on science and art creations with my two daughters, spend time outdoors with family and friends.
