I am a PhD student in Health Professions Education Research at The Wilson Centre. I am also a pharmacist and a lecturer at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. Currently, I am exploring the crucial role of struggle in learning and how it assists novices in acquiring the conceptual knowledge they need to learn in the future.

I love the podcast Reply All. I also enjoy HeavyWeight because the host, Jonathan Goldstein, is so odd. He is essentially a therapist with a time machine who helps people confront a moment in their past where things went wrong. As far as books go, anything by Miriam Toews (but in particular, All My Puny Sorrows).

I want to spend most of my spare time hiking in the mountains. This is problematic for me, as I live in Toronto. Consequently, I spend a lot of time planning hiking trips and weekends away to the Adirondacks. I am happiest when I am outdoors and have discovered that kayaking on Georgian Bay is almost as fun (and a little more convenient) for a weekend getaway in the summer.
