I received my Master’s training in Neuroscience from McGill University where I studied human learning and memory systems in the brain. Prior to this, I studied at McMaster University in the Psychology, Neuroscience and Behaviour program and was introduced to medical education research while working at the Program for Educational Research and Development on problems related to transfer of knowledge and clinical reasoning. I worked at the Wilson Centre for Health Professions Education Research at UHN and at the University of Toronto. Specifically, I supported the education portfolio of the Medical Psychiatry Alliance by applying my training in cognition and learning to advance research on the development of expertise and how to train current and future physicians to be able to deal with complexity and comorbidity in practice.

Some favourite books include Zadig which has stuck with me, others include Siddhartha and the Harry Potter series that will never get old.

Currently, Zarah is exploring new hiking terrain in British Columbia while pursuing her PhD in measurement and psychometrics at UBC.
